The Lame Duck Congress

With the mid-term elections behind us, and the next Congress a more conservative crowd than the last one was, America is just now getting back on the path towards conservatism. But a major problem looms directly ahead.

The Lame Duck Congress.

When Congress goes back in session after the elections, the liberal, progressive Democrats who did not get re-elected still have one last parting shot at America. They still hold the majority until the next Congress is sworn in, and they have some tricks up their sleeve to try and pass some of their remaining agenda.

They will try and pass $1 TRILLION in more spending before the end of the year. The Fed is going to start injecting $600 BILLION into the economy by buying government bonds ( the broke Federal Reserve loaning the broke government money on which the ink isn’t even dry yet, and with nothing to back it up). They will try and abolish the military’s “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy about gays serving openly in the armed forces. They may try and advance Cap & Trade, or any of Obama’s other “most wanted” legislation wish list.

Please don’t sit back and relax during the next two months. We must remain vigilant and make sure we are heard in our message that “We the People” don’t want bigger, more progressive government.

You would have thought that Obama, Pelosi, and Reid would have got the message after their Democratic party was trounced so badly, but they haven’t. They are showing no signs of backing off of their policies or agenda. So it is up to us to stand up and fight for America until we have legislators in place to block their agenda.

“We are in danger of being overwhelmed with irredeemable paper, mere paper, representing not gold nor silver: no sir, representing nothing but broken promises, bad faith, bankrupt corporations, cheated creditors, and a ruined people. Of all the contrivances for cheating the laboring classes of mankind, none has been more effective than that which deludes them with paper money”. – Daniel Webster
