As they expanded the colonization the Kingcontinually imposed higher taxes and greater authority over the people andtheir properties.Over time, the colonists had to make a tough decision as to how to proceedfor their benefit. Should they put up with the King’s excessive rule or freethemselves from the tyranny.Let me start by giving you all a brief history of the teaparty movement withthe colonists and and steps made to create this great country. Then I willfinish with where does the teaparty movement stand today.December 16th 1773, Boston TeapartyA group of settlers calling themselves “The Sons of Liberty” boarded aBritish vessel carrying crates of tea shipped over from the Mother Country.These Patriots, dressed in Indian garb, threw more than 300 crates of tea intothe Boston Harbor as a protest to excessive taxes.July 6th 1775 Declaration of Cause and Necessity of Taking Up Arms.Let me quote from this strategic document some of their concerns.“But a reverence for our Creator, principles of humanity, and the dictates ofcommon sense, must convince all those who reflect upon the subject, thatgovernment was instituted to promote the welfare of mankind, and ought tobe administered for the attainment of that end”Key points here are that governments should promote the welfare ofmankind……not rule absolutely over our welfare.“We are reduced to the alternative of choosing an unconditional submissionto the tyranny of irritated ministers, or resistance by force. -The latter is ourchoice._ We have counted the cost of this contest, and find nothing sodreadful as voluntary slavery. -Honour, justice, and humanity, forbid ustamely to surrender that freedom which we received from our gallantancestors, and which our innocent posterity have a right to receive from us.We cannot endure the infamy and guilt of resigning succeeding generations tothat wretchedness which invariably awaits them, if we basely entailhereditary bondage upon them”I have to ask you all now, are the current actions of our governments gettingexcessive? By excessive I mean are there too many fees, fines, taxes, rules,ordinances, regulations, directives, ????Are you afraid that we may be the first generation to hand off worseeconomic conditions to our children?As you can see our forefathers were concerned about the same situation backthen.And to further quote -“Our cause is just. Our union is perfect. Our internal resources are great, andif necessary, foreign assistance is undoubtedly attainable……..With heartsfortified with theses animating reflections, we most solemnly, before God andthe world, declare, that, exerting the utmost energy of those powers, whichour beneficent Creator hath graciously bestowed upon us, the arms we havebeen compelled by our enemies to assume, we will, in defiance of everyhazard, with unabated firmness and perseverance, employ for thepreservation of our liberties– being with one mind resolved to die freemenrather than to live slaves. “These forefathers were very serious in their reflections and judgments at thattime. They took what was happening to them very seriously and mostcertainly not lightly. They knew there were serious consequences to pay fortheir liberties but were willing to take them to continue their freedom in thenew found land called America.I ask all of you, are you concerned about your future in America NOW?Are you ready to fight for your freedoms in this great country? I am.We must be on the offensive utilizing all legal and political means that wecan to effect real change, to restore our Republic, to humble our governmentsaggression into our lives, to lower taxes, to increase individual freedoms.Are you ready….???July 4th 1776 Declaration of IndependenceWhen the colonists lost all hope with high taxes and physical abuses imposedupon them by the King, the final decision was made to declare independencefrom the tyranny.And I quote -“When in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people todissolve the political bonds which have connected them with another…… Wehold these truths to be self-evident , that all men are created equal, that theyare endowed by their creator with certain unalienable Rights, that amongthese are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness…..Do you think that our forefathers had just about enough at this point? Yes isthe answer.The Declaration of Independence goes on to detail the aggressions by theKing against the new country.We are not quite to the point of being so consumed by the governments thatwe espouse armed revolt, but, everyday it seems our liberties and ourfreedoms are being diminished.November 15th 1777Articles of ConfederationRules under which the newly freed States would organize were professed inthis document.And I quote–“ Articles of Confederation and perpetual Union between the states of………I. The Stile of this Confederacy shall be “The United States ofAmerica”. II. Each state retains its sovereignty, freedom, and independence,and every power, jurisdiction, and right, which not by this Confederationexpressly delegated to the United States, in Congress Assembled.Do you see the reference to States Rights here? Do you think our forefatherswere concerned about an overzealous overreaching federal government.Absolutely right..A famous politician quoted that the governments closest to the people rulebest… Amen to that.Do we have an overreaching federal government in this country? Hell yeswe do..Do we have wimpy federal mandate gorged local governments in thiscountry? Hell Yes we do.As you can see by results of last election change is in motion. The firstgrassroots Tsunami wave hit on November 2 this year and, as you all know,the second wave of a Tsunami is much more ferocious and deadly. Our planis to work with this movement and finish our ambitions to restore theRepublic in November 2012.September 17th 1787 Constitution of the United StatesOur new country was formed under the greatest document ever written tolayout a framework to govern people fairly.And I quote–“WE the people of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union,establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the commondefense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty toourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for theUnited States of America.”Wow, every time I read this document I get goosebumps.Do not let anyone suggest it is old and needs to change with the times. Thisdocument can and will rule a free class of people forever in time.December 15th 1791 The Bill of Rights (Ten Amendments)This document further directed the States and Federal government wheretheir responsibilities lay. As we all know, we the people ruled the countryand next to the people the States had independent sovereign rights. Lastly thefederal government was setup with duties to protect borders and directinterstate commerce, to put it in simple terms.So what have we accomplished since those glory days….Many more amendments that limit our freedoms.Activist judges.Corrupt politicians albeit there were undoubtedly some early on.A strong move towards socialist agendas which accelerated in the early1900’s as communism was moving about the globe.We can thank Woodrow Wilson for the Federal Reserve, 16th (the tax)amendment, 17th(take senators and congressmen from state control)Franklin Delano Roosevelt for Social Security and 90% business tax ratesamong other things.Lyndon Johnson for the Great Society or should we say the Great Destructionof Federal Budgets. Welfare, Medicare and Medicaid were started adding35% burden to federal budget. Those programs now represent 55% of federalbudget.And lo and behold, President Obama who gave us Stimulus, Tarp, ARRA,Bailouts, Cash for Clunkers, Obamacare, and multi trillion dollar deficitspending..In 234 years we have managed to take the greatest country from just that to aresounding what? Socialist leaning, ever apologizing, ever criticizingexecutive branch. Excessive deficit spending. Extreme social progams,overzealous government in majority of our lives. Is this what our foundersworked so hard to create. NO.Even worse than that since we entered WWII 68 years ago, we have seen ourcountry go from being worshiped as saviors of world to being laughed andscoffed at today. What is up with that? I say shame on our legislators andPresidents for letting this happen.I can only imagine that not only our forefathers but our grandfathers andfathers who fought valiantly for our freedoms are rolling in their graves ..The teaparty movement came to life in 2009 expressing concerns over thatstate of our country. Nationwide there are thousands of teaparty groups withtens of millions of membersI, personally, thank President Obama for doing the impossible, waking upAmerica. I have been trying for over thirty years.Montana alone has over twenty teaparty groups. We as Montana Shruggedare the largest and most active.The participants in this movement are concerned citizens. We are concernedabout the future of our country. WE are concerned about the damagingpolicies of the Obama regime. We believe in :Limited GovernmentsBalanced budgets but only after cutting them firstAbsolutely no deficit spending unless warranted in times of war.Lower taxesHigher wages-Prosperity for allControl of our bordersStrong and efficient militarySo in closing, I say to all of you and all the wonderful politicians that are heretonight and heading to Helena after the first of the year.We got your back.We will support you and your efforts in addressing our nations concerns.But if we see your stray from this path, rest assured, we will have adiscussion with you.So with all that said, I bid you all adieu..No that is French ….so I bid you all a good night.God Bless America.
