TEA party convention, Upcoming Luncheon, Top Priority Bills….

I am just amazed at how fast time flies by when you are chasing politicians.

There are many great things happening in Helena, Montana.  The new conservatives there combined with the good old guard are passing critical legislation to enhance our States Rights and reduce the bulging Schweitzer budgets.

This success in Helena could not have happened without your great support and voting conservative last November.

We have lots of work to do to continue working through legislation in Helena for next two months.  The progressive agenda on the left is being pushed hard in committees.  The State, County and local governments are lobbying hard to keep your taxes high, keep your healthcare costs high, limit your individual rights and freedoms, etc.. This is tragic but the true nature of government protecting their extravagant wages and benefits.  We at Montana Shrugged are fighting this push daily and we need your support on the bills as well as generous financial contributions so that we may forge ahead on this successful movement.

We have Montana’s First Annual TEA party Convention to be held in Helena on February 18-19.  Please make every effort to be there. This convention is historic for Montana as very few States have had a State Convention as yet. This puts Montana as leaders in this effort and puts our agenda of limited government, lower budgets, no deficits, lower taxes and prosperity for all on the fast track.

If you do not know already, we now have 5000 email members.  This makes Montana Shrugged one of the largest groups, if not the largest group in America.  This is astounding and we thank you all for jumping on board.  Our voices are being heard loud and clear even though you do not see it in local news.  The movement is huge across America and with your help and contributions; we will make another huge change in 2012.

Historically, a party needs control of all three branches of federal government to make changes and the Democratic Party has been successful a considerable portion of time over past 100 years.  The Republican Party has only had this control for 4 years of that time. Hence we have many costly social programs that are bankrupting our great nation.    For example, President Johnson rammed through his Great Society in the 1960’s which immediately increase federal budget 35%.  These programs now represent over 60% of federal budget and are huge burdens on State budgets.  We need to fix these problems through instilling personal responsibility and accountability into the individual.  We need to improve the free enterprise system as we diminish the size of government as did President Calving Coolidge resulting in the Roaring Twenties.  Our mission is to reinstate the roaring twenties but 100 years later.  Are you with US?

Call to Action – LTE Campaign

This past Wednesday we had a guest speaker – Jason Thomas.  He delivered a great speech and gave us many great ideas in order to grow our membership and be more effective as an organization.

As an attempt to gain control of our communities we are challenging you all to write letters to your local newspapers.  Our first topic is Obamacare and how it relates to both the budget and dificit spending.

We all know that most of our media outlets are extremely liberal.  So…..How do you get the media to cover your story?  You make them believe that your story IS a story that readers want to hear about.  We believe that if we can get just 280 letters submitted by the end of February then we will be well on our way to having the press cover our events in the future.

Know anything about the Cloward-Piven Stategy?  Ultimately it’s to overwhelm the system.  The liberals are very good at doing this so we need to beat them at their game.  Our goal is to overwhelm the media/newspapers system with our conservative opinion pieces.

We’ve all received those “canned” email responses (from Jon Tester)

I have to say Senator Tester, you are absolutely misguided and misinformed on the reasons healthcare and our budgets are in such dire straights.

It is the government on all levels with their fingers in the pie if you will.
Medicare, medicaid, prescription drugs, FDA, Social Security and so on…
Look at history and you will see that the proposals for all these plans presented little budget increases.  And history has shown that the numbers got completely out of hand as governments built their bureaucracies.
The only way this country is going to survive and thrive is for governments to cease their deadly grip on our prosperity.  The majority of government needs to be reduced significantly and soon.
Check out the Forgotten Man, Calvin Coolidge…He was the only President that successfully accomplished this task.  And the roaring twenties came alive. ..Well we want the roaring twenties back..
Obamacare is not good. It is not budget conscious.  It gives government supreme control over peoples healthcare decisions.  It will destroy our access to good healthcare..It will increase premiums out of sight and they are near that now.
Please go with the peoples voice which roared loud and clear last November and repeal Obamacare, cut the budgets and government spending, make people accountable for their benefits, privatize many of the wasteful agencies.  Let free markets rain.  Let people get back to work and get government out of their way.
We promise to you as the tea party grassroots people, that we are hell bent on fixing this problem with our without you.  Which way would you like to see it?
Our rally cry for 2012 is More of the Same.  WE intend on cruising into 2012 and make and even bigger upset in DC and the various States….America will begin to thrive and the  world will envy our success.

Thank you for contacting me with your concerns about the Affordable Care Act.  I voted for this important legislation to reform our health insurance industry, so that people with health insurance no longer have to subsidize free health care for those without health insurance.  Our old health care system put Montana families at risk of losing everything.

The Affordable Care Act stops insurance companies from denying coverage for pre-existing conditions.  It prohibits those companies from dropping folks when they get sick.  And it prevents insurance companies from putting arbitrary limits on our health insurance benefits and access to medical treatment.

The law also gives tax incentives for small businesses to provide health insurance coverage for their employees.  It cuts waste and fraud out of Medicare. And it’s expected to save hundreds of billions of dollars over the long term.

I know some members of the House of Representatives are talking about repealing health insurance reform.  The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) recently stated that repealing health care reform would raise the national deficit by hundreds of billions of dollars.  It is time to get serious about dealing with our debt, not add to it.

No legislation is perfect.  But I voted for health insurance reform because we needed to fix our health insurance industry and control costs.  Health care costs have broken too many Montana families.  The reform we passed last year will ensure that health care costs don’t continue to bankrupt Montana families and businesses.  It will keep Medicare strong for future generations.  And it’s tough on insurance companies.

Montanans sent me to the Senate to get things done, not sit on my hands.  I will continue to fight for access to affordable, quality health insurance for all Montanans.  The people of our state deserve nothing less.

Hell yeswe do..Do we have wimpy federal mandate gorged local governments in thiscountry? Hell Yes we do.As you can see by results of last election change is in motion. The firstgrassroots Tsunami wave hit on November 2 this year and, as you all know,the second wave of a Tsunami is much more ferocious and deadly. Our planis to work with this movement and finish our ambitions to restore theRepublic in November 2012.September 17th 1787 Constitution of the United StatesOur new country was formed under the greatest document ever written tolayout a framework to govern people fairly.And I quote–“WE the people of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union,establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the commondefense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty toourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for theUnited States of America.”Wow, every time I read this document I get goosebumps.Do not let anyone suggest it is old and needs to change with the times. As we all know, we the people ruled the countryand next to the people the States had independent sovereign rights. Lastly thefederal government was setup with duties to protect borders and directinterstate commerce, to put it in simple terms.So what have we accomplished since those glory days….Many more amendments that limit our freedoms.Activist judges.Corrupt politicians albeit there were undoubtedly some early on.A strong move towards socialist agendas which accelerated in the early1900’s as communism was moving about the globe.We can thank Woodrow Wilson for the Federal Reserve, 16th (the tax)amendment, 17th(take senators and congressmen from state control)Franklin Delano Roosevelt for Social Security and 90% business tax ratesamong other things.Lyndon Johnson for the Great Society or should we say the Great Destructionof Federal Budgets. Welfare, Medicare and Medicaid were started adding35% burden to federal budget. Those programs now represent 55% of federalbudget.And lo and behold, President Obama who gave us Stimulus, Tarp, ARRA,Bailouts, Cash for Clunkers, Obamacare, and multi trillion dollar deficitspending..In 234 years we have managed to take the greatest country from just that to aresounding what? Socialist leaning, ever apologizing, ever criticizingexecutive branch. Excessive deficit spending. Extreme social progams,overzealous government in majority of our lives. Is this what our foundersworked so hard to create. NO.Even worse than that since we entered WWII 68 years ago, we have seen ourcountry go from being worshiped as saviors of world to being laughed andscoffed at today. What is up with that?
