Continue to fight for our REPUBLIC!

Looks like Montana is welcoming back winter.  We were enjoying our extended Indian summer.  Wasn’t the weather just great over Christmas and New Years? Global warming is so great.  But, alas, it is not so great for the snowbound towns and fuel short towns of Alaska.  Record snows and cold up there.  We count our blessings here.

 

We three managers of Montana Shrugged would like to thank the recent flurry of contributions that came in over Christmas. We especially would like to thank Greg from Red Lodge for his most generous contribution of $500.  These true patriots are helping us carve our way to more activities and rallies.

 

We have a huge battle in front of us this year to get good Constitutional and Fiscal conservatives elected in Montana and across the US.  We are feeling real good in this fight for freedom and prosperity.  Our belief is that over 100 million citizens follow our movement and support our ideas.  With this size of a voter block we WILL change the leadership in America.  And it is all thanks to you.Please ask your friends and family to sign up and contribute as you can.

 

We are working on plans for a unique activity for this year’s April 15th rally.  We are planning a large event with many surprises. There will be a final Governor Showdown at the OK corral if you will.  WE plan on having a real down to earth Hoedown.  Stay tuned for details and be sure to put the date on your calendars.

 

We can make this a huge deal for our beliefs.  WE can show the non believers that we are here to stay and we are here for all of America.  We do not leave out any percentages as the Occupy Wallstreet radicals do.  We are America.  We are the Silent Majority.  Hear US roar.

 

Please read the presentation on the event below and make every attempt to attend.  Robert Brown with the John Birch Society is very knowledgeable in the ways of our Constitution.  It will be very entertaining and educational to learn about the Greatest Document ever written to rule man.  Our Republic needs all of us to educate ourselves and educate others to the wisdom of this great document.  We are not a Democracy, where simple majority rules.  A democracy is where the socialist elites would have us heading.  Well, we the people need to stand up for our Republic and fight for the Constitution.

Yes, the rumors are true, we are actually drilling a well in Montana, not Pennsylvania, not Wyoming, not North Dakota.  Can you believe that?

 

Oh, and Jennifer, my wife, and I would like to thank the completely misguided cowardly liberal who keeps sending the awful postcards harassing us and our family.  It is only to be expected that liberals hide behind fences, blog sites, harassing mail, op eds, etc. to try to make their point.  The problem is that they have no point that they can stand on.  They have no base or legs to stand on. They are poor misguided souls, led completely by ignorance and by the lies of the Democratic Socialist elites.  Cowards they are.

 

I have challenged all Democratic political legislators to discuss the important issues of the day on my television interview show and none have accepted.  I have challenged all Republican political appointees and candidates and they have all accepted in one manner or another.

 

I have challenged all news agencies in Billings as well as others across the State to report fair and balanced news.  They refuse. They show their ignorance and their political bent by supporting the likes of Occupy Wallstreet and their totally misguided mission statements.  They ignore the one and only grassroots movement that has come along in the past 100 years that supports Constitutional and fiscally sound issues.  Issues that are so critical to our survival as the greatest country on earth.  What are they thinking?  Oh, they are not.  I forgot that they too are completely controlled by the liberal elitists such as George Soros.

 

Obama is playing his fiddle while America burns and they pull the wool over their reader’s eyes.  They are complicit in the destruction of America.  We should cancel our subscriptions.  We should not purchase from their advertisers.  We should do a mass email campaign against all of them.  We have the power to make real change happen. Unified, as one of the largest tea party groups in America, we can make that change start right here in Yellowstone County, Montana.

 

I have personally invited Senators Baucus and Tester to come on and discuss issues to no avail.  All I get is that somewhat polite but quiet approval but always a no show.  Are these the kind of leaders that we need? I think not.

 

I have to take my hat off to Congressman Denny Rehberg as he has braved my show for an hour and one half in the past year.  The Patriot Chronicles IS fair and balanced.  We report you decide, just like Fox News but without their political bias.

 

Enough said. As you can tell there is lots of work to do.  We need your help to increase membership and increase contributions.

Crow Nation TEA Party to hold protest in downtown Billings

For Immediate Release:

 

The Crow Nation Tea Party with support of Montana Shrugged Tea Party Patriots will be holding a protest in Billings MT at the Federal Bldg in Downtown Billings MT beginning at high noon, January 26, 2011.

 

This protest is in regards to their concerns over the Water Rights Settlement Act which purports to deliver all water rights including those held privately by members to the Tribal government.  This is a direct violation of their rights as Native Americans and Tribal Members.

 

Please join them in their peaceful protest tomorrow.

 

We stand united with all citizens of America.

BILLS TO WATCH THIS WEEK AT THE MONTANA LEGISLATURE

BILLS TO WATCH THIS WEEK AT THE MONTANA LEGISLATURE: The Montana Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association and the Montana County Attorneys Association (the usual suspects) opposed the bill. If we can pry SB 114 out of the Senate Judiciary committee, we can probably get it through the Senate, and we can almost certainly get it through the House.

We can overcome the opposition of MSPOA and MCAA, but it will take some work. Certain members of the Senate Judiciary Committee need to hear from you now. Some are known for us, some are known against us, and some need contact. Against us are Senators Larry Jent, Lynda Moss, Anders Blewett and Shannon Augare, all Democrats.

Certainly for the bill are sponsorGreg Hinkle and Senator Terry Murphy. Here are the members of the Senate Judiciary Committee who need contact. Because they missed the public hearing: SenatorsJim Peterson (R-Senate President) and Chas Vincent (R).

Because I don’t know much about him: Senator Rowlie Hutton (R). Swing votes but can be persuaded (most important): SenatorsCliff Larsen (D-Missoula) and Jim Shockley (R-Victor). For any of these, you can leave messages at the Legislative Message Center (weekdays), at 444-4800.

The message can be as short as “Please support SB 114.” For any of these, you can use the Legislature’s Online message form: http://www.leg.mt.gov/css/sessions/62nd/legwebmessage.asp Email. Be advised that while email is easiest for us, it’s iffy for legislators. Some legislators attend to email well, and some don’t. You can certainly send messages by all three methods, to all legislators mentioned, even every day until the Committee acts on SB 114 (very soon, but not yet).

GOP DID NOT VOTE THEMSELVES A PAY RAISE

Contrary to the spin the Deomcrats are putting out that the GOP Legislature voted to raise its salary ON January 12 on the HB 1 (“feed bill” vote, it is just not true). Article V Section V of the Montana Constitution states that the Legislature cannot fix its compensation. They can vote this time to raise the pay next time. They are not going to do that.  They are focused on cutting the budget and reducing the size and scope of the state government.  With pressure from conservative activists across the state we will get a handle on the Governor’s enormous budget increase and keep the government from overreaching its thumb into our everyday lives.  Total control of the people is not what our founding fathers had in mind.

The money the State pays for ALL State employees’ health insurance rose on Jan 1st as a result of the House voting LAST SESSION. Their per diem went up about 1.5% – but the Legislature has no control over that. The State sets that.

The bill on January 12th voted in the money to fund this Legislative session and the start of the next session.

The Democrats did not vote on the bill on the floor – they voted on the actions of the Appropriations subcommittees cutting the budget yesterday. 100% of Republicans voted for the bill and 100% of the Democrats voted against it, trying to make a point.  So much for the democrats “working with” the Republicans.  The Republicans gained control of the Montana legislature because the people were upset by how the Democrats were “doing business” at the capital in the previous session.

Let them not forget why they are in Helena.  They work for the people, hence the title “public servants”.  The people want government reined in and the budget cut.  Are they listening?

Lastly thefederal government was setup with duties to protect borders and directinterstate commerce, to put it in simple terms.So what have we accomplished since those glory days….Many more amendments that limit our freedoms.Activist judges.Corrupt politicians albeit there were undoubtedly some early on.A strong move towards socialist agendas which accelerated in the early1900’s as communism was moving about the globe.We can thank Woodrow Wilson for the Federal Reserve, 16th (the tax)amendment, 17th(take senators and congressmen from state control)Franklin Delano Roosevelt for Social Security and 90% business tax ratesamong other things.Lyndon Johnson for the Great Society or should we say the Great Destructionof Federal Budgets. Welfare, Medicare and Medicaid were started adding35% burden to federal budget. Those programs now represent 55% of federalbudget.And lo and behold, President Obama who gave us Stimulus, Tarp, ARRA,Bailouts, Cash for Clunkers, Obamacare, and multi trillion dollar deficitspending..In 234 years we have managed to take the greatest country from just that to aresounding what? Socialist leaning, ever apologizing, ever criticizingexecutive branch. Excessive deficit spending. Extreme social progams,overzealous government in majority of our lives. Is this what our foundersworked so hard to create. NO.Even worse than that since we entered WWII 68 years ago, we have seen ourcountry go from being worshiped as saviors of world to being laughed andscoffed at today. What is up with that? I say shame on our legislators andPresidents for letting this happen.I can only imagine that not only our forefathers but our grandfathers andfathers who fought valiantly for our freedoms are rolling in their graves ..The teaparty movement came to life in 2009 expressing concerns over thatstate of our country. Nationwide there are thousands of teaparty groups withtens of millions of membersI, personally, thank President Obama for doing the impossible, waking upAmerica. I have been trying for over thirty years.Montana alone has over twenty teaparty groups. We as Montana Shruggedare the largest and most active.The participants in this movement are concerned citizens. We are concernedabout the future of our country. WE are concerned about the damagingpolicies of the Obama regime. Rehberg coasts to sixth term

U.S. Rep. Denny Rehberg has ridden a wave of tea party-fueled conservative fervor and voter resentment of Democratic policies to a sixth term in Congress.

The state’s sole congressman was never in danger of losing to Democratic challenger Dennis McDonald. The incumbent spent the election cycle casting himself as an agent of change to the policies of Democrats in Washington, D.C.

Results show Rehberg leading McDonald 56 percent to 39 percent with 13 percent of precincts reporting Tuesday night. Libertarian Mike Fellows had 5 percent.

McDonald, a rancher from Melville, struggled to raise enough money to give his attacks on Rehberg widespread attention.

McDonald argued Rehberg helped break the budget with deficit spending under the Bush administration, and he tried to keep the spotlight on Rehberg’s foibles.  READ REST OF STORY….

.A lesson in progressivism.

I just attended a democratic “GOTV” event at MSU in Billings. I wasn’t actually invited. TEA Party is never invited to these events. But, did that stop us from utilizing our constitutional rights? You bet it didn’t!

This might tell how old Senator Baucus is…..he called the college campus “eastern”…..

McDonald (candidate for US Congress running against incumbent Denny Rehberg) showed up without a horse….or an ass. I thought he was still on his trek across the state but I guess I was wrong. Apparently that is over with. He left them both at home.

First I have to ask: Is it legal for the S.O.S. to tell a bunch of college students to ‘vote democrat’? She works for republicans and independent voters too doesn’t she? How can she spend our tax dollars travelling across the state to tell folks to specifically vote democrat?

Eric got a chance to visit with Baucus, Tester, McDonald and various staff members. This seems to be a once in a lifetime situation for the tea party as they don’t tend to show up to our events or hold town halls to allow questions from the general public.

McDonald refused to admit that he’d ever been invited on to our TV program, The Patriot Chronicles, but then when invited for the Thursday show he knew exactly what time and in what location we taped. Coincidence, or did he get all the emails I’ve sent him in the past couple months?

The democrats clearly do not want the tea party to appear at any of their events. That was evident from all the annoyed facial expressions and rolling of eyes that occurred.

I was approached by, who I believe to be, a college democrat from MSUB who tried to force me to wear a nametag. When I refused she quickly told me that if I did not wear a nametag she assumed me to be a protester (without any type of protest sign in my hand mind you!) and the “Free Speech Zone” was ¼ mile down the road! She attempted but failed to shoo me out the door.

Isn’t a college campus a public place? Also, can’t I listen to what my senators are talking about? Like I said before, this seemed to be ‘once in a lifetime deal’ as Baucus and Tester refuse to hold town halls without hand selected crowds.

A friend of mine’s 12 year old daughter wanted to meet Baucus, to shake his hand and ask a question. She got the hand shake in and as she began to ask her question Baucus quickly turned the other way and ignored her existence. Could he be any ruder? Why don’t you talk to your constituents Baucus? I realize she may not be of voting age but she’s impressionable and shouldn’t you want to know what she is thinking?

I believe every single candidate running on the D ticket in Yellowstone County was there including Kendall Van Dyk, Margie McDonald, and a bunch of others I won’t continue to list. That’s not the point I’m trying to make here. If you want to know the rest of their names you can feel free to visit the Montana election site.

Just like at the economic summit in Butte Baucus got up on stage and got the couple folks there to chant things such as “max max max” and “billings billings billings”. Jon Tester read off (a very short list at that) a list of all the accomplishments that the democrats have got through the door since he took office 2 years ago. Mcdonald said after tomorrow the blue sky will be ‘bluer’.

We were a bit disappointed that Kendall Van Dyk stayed far away from the both of us. He’s a self-declared “fiscal conservative” so you figure he’d be first in line to talk to the tea party. Especially since deficit spending and the budget is one of the most important issues to us. All we got from him was an ugly look and we figured we’d not approach him after that.

We took video of the entire event so I will post that tomorrow once I get it converted. But all in all, I’m glad I went. We got another invitation for our TV program to Baucus, Tester, McDonald and also got one in to Jay Bell. I hope that they all agree to be guests on our show and to talk to the real people of Montana.

Tomorrow

Tomorrow, you can help determine not just the outcome of this election, but our country’s future.

This grassroots movement has never backed down from a tough fight — and we’re not about to start.

Over the next two years, we’ve got to keep moving America forward — but we need allies in legislative offices to make it happen.

I implore you to get at least three of your friends to vote with you — it is simply the most important thing you can do to make sure we can keep bringing about the real changes we desire.

Millions and millions of our supporters have already cast their ballots this year in key states like Montana, Ohio, Florida, Iowa, and Illinois — and every vote you turn out will help move America forward to new and stronger prosperity.

If you have voted already, we thank you. If you haven’t yet voted, please think through how and when you will do so. When will you go to the polls? How will you get there?

Our country is facing the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression — with over 8 million jobs gone — because of out of control spending and enormous deficits!

Two short years later — together — we have begun to rebuild our economy through the values of hard work and responsibility.

We must continue to move forward, and the decisions voters make in your area will determine which direction this country takes for generations.

We want a limited federal government, lower taxes and higher wages.

We want to privatize many federal programs including social security, and stop the other side from handing over the retirement savings of a generation to Wall Street.

We want to utilize our own natural resources which lie here in America and not be dependent upon foreign oil. These changes and many more is what will create real long lasting jobs in our country.

The other side has different ideas. They believe government can fix problems. They do not realize that government is the problem. Huge cuts in federal budgets will open up opportunities for businesses to prosper bringing with it many jobs.

We cannot relive that past.

Don’t let them tell you that REAL change isn’t possible. Because here’s what I know: Nothing in America has ever been easy.

The only reason we’re here is because, in past generations, Americans came together, even in the face of impossible odds.
We’ve asked you to do so much since we started this journey together, and you’ve always come through with your support, emails and contributions.

And now, I’m asking you to come together to cast your vote for those with conservative and constitutional principles and values. Cast your vote for REAL change tomorrow.

With your vote — and the votes of at least three of your friends — we’ll continue to grow this economy and restore our Republic to what the Founders worked so hard to design, and the American Dream will be alive and well once again.
